Our lodge is located in a mountainous area, so there are certain restrictions regarding check-in times, transportation, meal times, and other aspects of your stay.
Please note that this is a mountain lodge, not a hotel in town.
To avoid any misunderstandings after booking, please read the following information carefully before making your reservation.
Information & FAQ
Q. How long does it take to reach the lodge from the nearest bus stop?
It takes approximately 1 hour on foot from Kamikochi Bus Terminal to our lodge.
There are no buses, taxis, shuttle services, or other means of transportation to the lodge. Access is by foot only.
As you will be walking in a mountain area, weather conditions and daylight hours may affect safety.
Please allow plenty of time for your journey.
Q. What time is check-in?
Check-in is between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM.
As the lodge can only be reached on foot, traveling later in the day may involve safety risks.
Please make your reservation only if your schedule allows you to arrive by 4:00 PM.
Before 2:00 PM, the lodge is operating as a restaurant, so we are unable to show guests to their rooms.
If you arrive early, we can store your luggage in your room until check-in time.
If the weather is poor and you have difficulty finding somewhere nearby to wait, we would appreciate it if you could contact us in advance.
Please allow extra time for weather conditions, transportation delays, and walking time.
Q. When can I make a reservation?
Reservations open according to the number of guests:
1 guest: from 30 days before the stay
2 guests: from 60 days before the stay
3 or more guests: from 90 days before the stay
We are a small mountain lodge with only 4 guest rooms, so reservation periods are set according to group size.
Q. Can I stay by myself?
Yes. Reservations for 1 guest are accepted from 30 days before the stay.
However, as a general rule, only 1 room per day is available for single occupancy.
This means that even if rooms for 2 or more guests are still available, they may not be bookable by a single guest.
If no room for 1 guest is shown on the reservation page, the single-occupancy allocation for that day has already been filled.
Q. Can I make a reservation by phone?
We are sorry, but we do not accept accommodation reservations by phone.
Please make your reservation and check room availability through our online booking page.
Q. Can I stay for consecutive nights?
We are sorry, but we do not accept consecutive-night stays.
As we have only 4 guest rooms, we ask guests to stay for 1 night so that as many people as possible can stay with us.
In addition, the lodge operates as a restaurant during the daytime, so overnight guests cannot remain inside the lodge during the day.
For these reasons, consecutive-night stays are not available.
Q. Can I make a reservation on the same day?
No. We do not accept same-day accommodation reservations.
Please make your reservation in advance.
Q. Can I pay for my accommodation at the lodge?
Accommodation fees should generally be paid in advance at the time of booking.
On-site payment for accommodation is generally not available.
Q. Should I bring cash?
Yes. Although accommodation fees are generally paid in advance, food, drinks, and purchases at the lodge are cash only.
Cashless payment may also be unavailable at some places in Kamikochi.
We therefore recommend bringing enough cash with you for your stay.
Q. Can I change my reservation?
We are unable to change the number of guests or the date of an existing reservation.
Please cancel your current reservation and make a new reservation yourself with the correct details.
Please note that rooms may no longer be available when you try to make the new reservation.
Q. Can children stay at the lodge?
Yes. Children are welcome to stay.
However, our lodge is located at an elevation of approximately 1,500 meters.
For infants and toddlers aged 0 to 2 years, we do not generally recommend staying with us due to the possible physical effects of altitude and changes in temperature.
Please carefully consider your child’s condition before making a reservation.
Q. Can breakfast or dinner times be changed?
We are sorry, but meal times cannot be changed.
Dinner is served at 5:00 PM.
Breakfast is served at 6:45 AM.
If you plan to leave before breakfast time, breakfast can be changed to a simple packed meal.
The packed breakfast consists of 2 rice balls and will be given to you the evening before.
For hygiene reasons, we are unable to prepare packed lunches for the following day.
Packed meals handed out the evening before are available for breakfast only.
Q. Can you accommodate dietary restrictions or food allergies?
We will do our best to accommodate requests where possible, but in most cases our response will be limited to removing ingredients that you cannot eat.
Where possible, we may provide a simple substitute.
We are unable to prepare individual special menus, guarantee complete allergen removal, or use separate cooking equipment and preparation areas.
Guests with severe food allergies should carefully consider this before making a reservation.
Q. Are towels, hair dryers, and amenities provided?
Slightly larger hand towels are available to rent for ¥200 each.
A hair dryer is available in the washroom for ¥100 per use.
We do not provide individual amenities such as toothbrushes, so please bring any personal items you may need.
Shared shampoo, conditioner, and body soap are provided in the bathing area.
Q. Can you store my luggage?
Yes. We can store luggage for guests staying at the lodge.
However, storage space inside the lodge is limited.
For larger groups in particular, we may not be able to store large amounts of luggage or oversized items.
We kindly ask guests to keep stored luggage to the minimum necessary.
Q. How many guest rooms are there?
We have a total of 4 guest rooms.
As we are a small mountain lodge, the number of guests we can accommodate is limited.
Reservations close once all available rooms have been booked.
Q. What happens if transportation is suspended due to heavy rain or a natural disaster?
Heavy rain, landslides, road conditions, or other circumstances may cause buses to be suspended or roads into Kamikochi to be closed.
In such situations, we may contact guests directly depending on the circumstances.
We will monitor transportation and road conditions and provide information about how we are handling the situation at that time.
Mountain weather and transportation conditions can change quickly, so please also check the latest information yourself on the day of your stay.
